Fretheads Unite!

Welcome to the Fretterverse – for the love of all things guitar! If you are like me (and I know there are millions out there) you have an intense passion for the guitar. There’s something about the raw energy created by holding that piece of wood in your hands and pouring your soul into a piece of music that moves you, and others; something about finally playing that one special note, or getting the perfect tone that only you have but everyone else wants; something about the way you can express what you’re feeling even when you can’t put it into words. That’s the power of this beautiful instrument.

I started this site for two reasons: First, because I love the guitar. (I think we just established that.) I started playing when I was 11 and cannot imagine what my life would be like if I hadn’t. This site is one of my ways of giving back, to share what I know with you, and, hopefully, to learn from all of you so I can become a better player. Second, although there are lots of great guitar sites already out there on the Internet, most of them seem to be narrowly-focused to one particular area of interest, whether it be blues, effect pedals, etc. I wanted to start a site that encompassed all aspects of guitar playing – everything from gear to playing live, songwriting, music theory, great players (regardless of style), lessons… to quote Freddie Mercury, “I want it all!”

As the sites grows I hope we can all grow with it, to share our love of the guitar with each other, and to create a community of positive-thinking players who encourage others to play and find the same passion and joy that we found when we first started.
