The Shameless Cover Tune Plug

Support my cover song!

A while ago I wrote a post about cover tunes (Cover It Straight or Make It Your Own).

For those of you who like old school prog, I submit to you my band’s contribution to “making it your own.” This project by an Italian-based prog lover was a long time in the making, but it’s finally out and available for purchase.

If you get a moment and have a chance to listen to some great musicians — and to hear my idea of making a cover tune original rather than covering it exactly as the original — click into the post to get more information.

The name of the project is Tales From the Edge: A Tribute to the Music of Yes. There are lots of very good songs on the 2CD set. If you want to jump directly to ours, it’s the last song in the list; just click on the play icon next to the song (we covered the oft forgotten but no less awesome song “Changes”) and you’ll hear our contribution.

More to the point, if you would like to support indie musicians and the guys that put out projects like this, please consider buying a copy.

I would love to hear your thoughts on our cover!

Hey, that’s an awesome cover! I’m listening to it now. Must have been pretty difficult to get right, with all those crazy rhythms?

Thanks, Rob. It was a lot of fun. Not too difficult, actually, as we (Din Within) often play complex time signatures in our music. Most of the time I’m more comfortable NOT playing in 4/4.
