In the interest of keeping this blog fair — as much as I’m going to be talking about practicing, among other things — I thought that I would keep myself honest and journal my practice sessions. I will try to provide as much information as I can about my sessions. If you have any questions regarding specific explanations, please comment and I will be happy to answer.
Time: 1 hour
Comments: Early morning practice session today. Continued working on same material from yesterday:
- Three-octave Maj6 arpeggios in all 12 keys.
- Hungarian Gypsy Minor ideas that Scott McGill.
- Wolfhart #5, Bona #82, and Bona #83 (up an octave).
- Open voice triads in C – major, harmonic minor, melodic minor. Worked in different string groups all over the neck.
- Improvisation over All the Things You Are.
I am just about ready to unveil my official practice routine, as I feel all of the components are finally in place.
