Dude! Yeah, I wasn't exactly doubled over with laughter that night.

The only thing I remember about that battle of the bands thing was the song "Vehicle." I really dig that tune.

I had a similar experience as you when filling in for a guitarist for a gig. I had to learn about 18 songs in a matter of hours, and when the show came they did a cover of a Rolling Stones tune that I just could not remember for the life of me. I kept turning the volume on my guitar down and the sound engineer kept trying to turn me up. It was hilarious for me but I was pissing him off big time. I didn't really care; it was the last song of the night.

There is definitely something to be said for having to learn tons of songs in a short period of time, however. Much kudos to the sessions players that can do it.

Dude (see how cool I am), I forgot about you smashing your car window. That was hysterical, though I remember you having some trouble seeing that at the time.

I didn't play out all that much but I remember a gig I played with Little Dave's cover band. I had to learn about 30 songs in a week. In the middle of some Billy Idol song I completely forgot how to play the tune. I tried looking at what Dave was playing to get back into the song. I couldn't see what he was playing, so I potted down and pretended to play. It was ridiculous.

Oh and then there was the time with Krasner's brother's Battle of the Bands gig where I played the wrong part during the Lenny Kravitz tune and made you come out of the solo early. You were so pissed!
